"Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge" Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge by chrissyalex

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge is a marsh located in the Finger Lakes region of New York state that provides nesting areas and feeding habitat for waterfowl and migratory birds. Some of the birds you may see here are Canadian geese, snow geese, herons ,mallard ducks and if you are very lucky....bald eagles! In addition to birds, you may see other animals as well such as deer, fox, turtles, rabbits and muscrats.
On a recent visit this May, we saw tons of baby Canadian geese!
If you would like to read more about the refuge, you can visit this very informative site. http://www.fws.gov/r5mnwr/
It gives you directions to the refuge, its history and tells you all about the different animals and plants there , when is the best time to see them and where.

You were the featured traveler when I logged in just now. Congrats! I just spent the weekend around these types of places and saw at least 8 bald eagles.

I was just here a couple weeks ago, in between the winery tour and the women's rights national historic site! Can't wait to see more:)
