Florida is the number one flight destination for central New Yorkers, and also many people travel here by car. People were always surprised when they found out I have visited several different countries but had never visited Florida. I was planning to visit Peru and we would have to fly out of Miami , so I thought "Why not check it out for a few days and see what this Florida fever was all about! " Well, the few days ended up being a week because of last minute flight schedule changes with the airlines I booked our flight to Peru with..I was disappointed that we would be spending less time in Peru,but Miami was not the worst place in the world to have to spend a few extra days.

I had a nice time. Up north,we had experienced a frigid,snowy winter and a cold,damp spring. It was in the low 50's and raining in Syracuse the day we left and it was in the 90's and sunny when we arrived in Miami! This alone was justification enough for me why so many New Yorkers travel to Florida! It felt great leaving the 50 degree weather behind. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to leave below freezing weather and snow behind in the winter! I may be tempted to return sometime when we are having our 6 months of snow and I have had enough!
