Swakopmund is a beautiful classic town by the west coast.
It was perfect place to have few days city break between our adventures in the Namib-Naukluft Park to the trip to Skeleton Coast Park and Etosha National Park.
It is also a good place to stay while you plan to visit the fishing town of Walvisbaai or plan off the beaten trip to check out the Welwitschia drive.

Beautiful German town, beautiful German-style beers. Particularly good post on the Seabreeze Guest House, looks like a find. We enjoyed our township visit to Mondesa.

Great to see some towns in Africa in addition to your great wildlife pages, Gil. Ostrich & a cold one? Might not ever serve it at the Oktoberfest but I'm game.

I ate the best Hawaiian pizza ever in Swakopmund! In town I talked to a very old Deutschlander whose father emigrated there to build the jetty.
