As a child I always loved coming to Galveston. As an adult I love it even more. It has a mix of Old South and New, it has beaches along with a formal atmosphere. It has the warm waters of the Gulf Coast and Laguna Madre behind it. It is a major shipping and fishing port and is also a home of many pleasure boats. In short, it has something for all. It reminds me of a texas version of Long Beach, which is where I live now.
It also has a good Air History Museum that I have made a travelogue on. This is the Point Boliver Lighthouse.

Wow! i will have to visit this air mueum! it looks really interesting!
When I was there it had gone to the dogs. Glad to see it is still beautiful though.
