Planes of Fame

Chino is located about 45 miles NNE of Long Beach and is noted for two things. It has lots of cows because of all the dairys and it has the best collection of flying WWII vintage aircraft outside of the Confederate Air Force. There is an air show every year and this is what this page is dedicated to.

I was notified by Chino240Z that the cows have all moved to the East side of town. I can see it now. There will be cow gangs with cow influenced music and dance soon to follow.

Pros and Cons

Pros:The best Warbirds museum on the West Coast
Cons:Pretty far out for a day trip
In a nutshell:the airshow makes it worth the trip!

It does not smell that bad. Almost all of the cows are gone, and there are soooo many new houses and shopping centers. The day of the Cow is just about gone in Chino, but there are still a few over in Ontario.

Hi American, I lived in Chino from 1980-97, then in Ontario for a few years. Most of the dairies are gone, but the farminess of the locals still remains. I like that, being a kid from Iowa originally.

Cows are only East of Euclid Ave. No more cows West of Euclid in Chino. 3 years later all homes & shopping centers. Been in Chino 8 yrs and never smell cows unless I was in the dairy area. Farmers have almost sold off the the developers... too bad.

the kind of show my husband and son would love. But awww dont call the cows, they are lovely creatures :-)
