One of my favorite places | Look kids, Big Ben, Parliment! |
I have been traveling through and to London all my adult life. I never tire of it and have seen just about every major tourist site or attraction that there is. I finally got to take my family there in July 2009 and we had a whirlwind time but I think they took a big bite of it. Here are the things I love about London:
No langauge barrier The pub scene Free admission to museums GREAT public transportation systems Friendlier than other metro cities in the world History Overload!
The drawbacks:
Murderous excahange rate Expensive even without the exchange rate No freeway (Motorway) system in the city Weather |
| Been there, done that, got a 20 year old tee shirt |
| | Millions of pictures Every tourist takes pictures of all the big tourist sites. I am no exception. Here is a grainy photo of me at Tower Bridge. |
| | British Cricket Fans In all my visits I never saw a group like this until 2001. These cricket fans were on their way back from an International Test Match and I asked if I could get their photo. Three said sure and one called me a "Cheeky Yank" and turned his back to hail a cab. I guess that is his best side. |
