Oligarchy in the UK!

by american_tourister - last update: Aug 16, 2006

One of my favorite places

Look kids, Big Ben, Parliment!
This makes 7 times I have been to London in the past 20 years. It is truly one of the world's magical places and should be on anyones "to do" list.

I have never made a trip in which London was my end destination. It has always been a day here, three days there, two days here. In this time I have seen most of the major tourist attractions and now I am trying to branch out and see some out of the way stuff.

I hope the exchange rate drops soon. I have another Middle East to CONUS trip in November and will lay over on the way back.
Been there, done that, got a 20 year old tee shirt

Millions of pictures

Every tourist takes pictures of all the big tourist sites. I am no exception. Here is a grainy photo of me at Tower Bridge.

British Cricket Fans

In all my visits I never saw a group like this until 2001. These cricket fans were on their way back from an International Test Match and I asked if I could get their photo. Three said sure and one called me a "Cheeky Yank" and turned his back to hail a cab. I guess that is his best side.

Pros:"One of the World's top 5 cities to visit"
Cons:"Way expensive!"
In A Nutshell:"You have to see it at least once in your life but bring lots of money."

a great perspective on London. I appreciate the tip about the "guides nee crooks" that can fleece a visitor. I will be heading to London this January. Thanks for the effort you put into your pages, Kat

It was great that you had the time to grab some beers and a few sights in London! Definitely one of my favourite places too, really must have another look!

I like the artsy, foggy tint to your pictures! Can't wait til I've been to London six times. :)
