Getting TO/AROUND: The Rome bus system is easy to use, dependable, and inexpensive. It is everything a bus system should be. Some of the lines do get crowded though. The #64 from Stazione Termini to the Vatican is one prime example. It was packed everytime we used it. If you are staying more than one day I suggest you get a multi day pass for the subway and the bus. You purchase them from a vending machine in the subway stations or at news stands. Either way is easy. The ones in the subway stations are in English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish so they are easy for almost anyone to use.

Getting TO/AROUND: There is a direct line train that goes from the airport to the central train station. From there you can get anywhere in Rome by bus or subway. It costs about $7.00 one way and is worth every penny as taxis can cost $30.00 and up for a ride to central Rome.

Getting TO/AROUND: There are express trains from the airport to the central train station in Rome. I have taken it before. Once there you can catch the subway or a bus to go anywhere you need to go. The subway is limited in scope but the busses are quite dependable and cheap. You can get just about anywhere you need to go by city bus.
