Getting TO/AROUND: I'm lucky in that two train systems go through my town. I can get to Victoria or Waterloo in under an hour. Here's Victoria Station at mid-day - a great terminal and right in the heart of London. Lots of people are unaware that there's an escalator that goes up and will take one to some very nice shops and good restaurants at the top of the station... Cafe Rouge is just one spot that's nice for relaxing... if you miss the train. The Gatwick Express begins and ends here but there's talk of shutting it down within a year or so. Outside is the large Victoria Coach center - tourist buses board right down the street. It's an easy walk to Buckingham Palace.

breughel Mon Mar 23, 2009 19:19 UTC Thank you for your kind comment on my Haarlem page. Preparing a new visit to London I looked with much interest to your restaurant reviews, especially the Indian ones. As for Van Goch the Musée d'Orsay has some of his best paintings as you have seen. | TravellingSpirit Mon Aug 25, 2008 02:45 UTC It was lovely to have a proper chance to talk last night and thanks so much for recommending sch a wonderful place.
