One of my best friends lives in Portsmouth. I've been lucky to visit several times. This is what most people see when they visit, but I have a few other suggestions about nearby locations which are also interesting and fun.
Here's Nelson's flagship, the Victory. The admiral quarters are surprisingly large and the tour of the ship is worth taking time for. |

Bwana_Brown Sat Jun 10, 2006 23:25 UTC That is a beaut shot of HMS Victory!! I've always been an admirer of Admiral Nelson. The Royal Oak pub looks like a nice spot for an ale. | themajor Fri Sep 23, 2005 17:00 UTC Is it not telling June that the two nice places you mention in your tips actually aren't in Portsmouth at all? Alas, the truth will out! That being said I once found a nice fish and chip shop there.... | NJSS Fri Sep 9, 2005 12:37 UTC This is actually The Royal Oak at 19 Langstone High Street, Langstone, PO9 1RY just outside Havant.
