An unscheduled holiday in Warsaw

by travelmad478 - last update: Jan 31, 2004

I've been to Warsaw a few times on business, each time for just a day. However, my second trip to Warsaw landed me there at just the wrong time--September 11, 2001. Although this trip was supposed to be just one day, it ended up as five. I had been scheduled to fly to NY the next day, but all flights to the US were halted and I didn't get back home until Sept. 16. While on my accidental vacation, I managed to break away from the phone and CNN for long enough to take a spin around central Warsaw. Here's the result!

Its nice to read how other people see my country. I have noticed many things I havent seen before. Only because I moved away three years ago. Now I started to appreciated my culture much more. Please, go and visit Cracow.

I'm glad you finally had a chance to stay in Warsaw and see what it has to offer. I spent nearly two weeks there this year and absolutely loved it. That photo in front of the US embassy is amazing and very moving.

I enjoyed your Warsaw page very much! I was only surprised that you were so surprised when the man gave his arm to the woman and walked her into the dining room. These men did not die out yet, did they? :o)
