I spent about ten days on a speedy tour of Croatia in May 2003. We flew into Zagreb, spent two days there, then flew on to Dubrovnik in the south. After a few days in Dubrovnik, we rented a car and drove up through Dalmatia to the island of Korcula. We took the ferry from the Korculan town of Vela Luka to Split, then took in Split and Trogir. From Trogir we headed inland to Plitvice Jezera National Park. After that, we had plans to see friends in neighboring Slovenia, so we drove north through Karlovac and then northwest to Ljubljana. We returned to Zagreb from there. It was a lot of driving, but also a lot of fun!
I wish we had had time to get to Istria, which I had heard a lot about (particularly the food)! That will have to wait until my next trip to this lovely, manageable country. |

EllenH Mon Sep 11, 2006 00:29 UTC I am going to take kristab's tip...lol | JLBG Fri Mar 12, 2004 16:52 UTC What you write on restaurants apply somehow to tourist feed, in the highly touristic areas (everywhere, not only in Croatia !). For your next travel, try to eat outside the beaten path. The figure will be completly different ! | KristaB Mon Jan 5, 2004 14:19 UTC You should have visited Cavtat near Dubrovnik, one of the dishes on the menu is Orgasm Plate. Very popular dish. : ))) | dlandt Tue Dec 23, 2003 05:35 UTC Perfect Picture!!!!! |
