Why is it called the Barking Dog?
This retro Pub/Restaurant/Coffee Shop is decorated with framed photo's of dogs from all over the world - and is a definate must see for VT travellers!!!!
They have bowls on the pavement for your dogs refreshment.
Great Food and service!
Cafe open for breakfast all day.
Lunch and dinner 7 days till late.
Outdoor dining.

Favorite Dish: Risotto with Prawns, Mussels and Scallops - very fresh and resonably priced - A$15. Gourmet Wood Fired Pizzas, Cakes and Gravity Coffee.

Don't let the name Motel put you off.
Fantastic Ocean View, particulary in the morning as the sun rises and in the evening when it is dark and the lights are out on the Bay. Excellent and friendly service. The photo show's white linen on the table -they have been removed and the Restaurant is a more relaxed style now.

Restaurant Name: Smorgy's & Buccaneers

Smorgy’s Restaurant on Cunningham Pier. Many a man has been lured by the prospect of a set price all you can eat buffet and regreted having to spend the evening listening to an animated Seal. Now it is time to be frank. The two times I have been there have been disappointing. Lots of little Fingers in the food and lots of noise. It is not mentioned in any of the tourist literature I have read and the only thing going for it in my opinion is the view.
Do venture into the café on the other side of Cunningham Pier called Buccaneers. Take a look at the free Aquarium along one wall and if you wish to stop, have a coffee and admire the view.

The restaurant offers diners an authentic Italian experience.

The smells are glorious. The Cafe seats approx 30 patrons.

Traditional linen covers the tables and Italian memorabilia is dotted through the room.

This is a Family run business and they will make you feel very welcome.

Favorite Dish: The pasta's are filling and the serves generous. You choose the pasta you would like eg. Spagetti, Fett, Penne, Gnocchi and the sauce eg Marinara, Calbresca, Carbonara.

The meals come with fresh crusty bread and olive oil.

The meals are very reasonable priced.

The Mon-Wed Lunch Special is good value at A$10 for an entree Pasta and softdrink, juice or coffee.

Restaurant Name: Sushi

This Sushi Bar is one of 3 in Geelong, all of which are in Ryrie Street, so if this one doesn't appeal just go on to the next one.

The Sushi and Sashimi have always been fresh each time I have eaten here. The best time to go of course is in the rush hour at lunch time, when you can see the items being prepared and you know they are fresh.

Favorite Dish: I have only tried the Sushi & Sadhimi.

Other items on the menu include the normal staples, such as Yakitori, Tempura, Teriyaki as well as noodle and rice dishes.

Items are available takeaway or eat in.
