Entering Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine area. - Nikko

Nikko is about 100 Km north of Tokyo. In my opinion it is something not to be missed in Japan, as this is probably the most important and majestic temple complex in the country. Nikko town is nothing interesting, walk immediately (about 30 min. uphill) to the Nikko Tosho-gu Shrine area.
It is a very popular destination and it can be visited on a daytrip from Tokyo, thus it can be very very crowded. We are uphill here, amidst lush vegetation and it's pleasantly cool in summer (I don't know about winter).
