"A beautiful country with a sad history" Top 5 Page for this destination Bosnia and Herzegovina by dabuwan

In the last years I spent some time reading the archives about the war, the prisons, the camps, etc.. in what now is Bosnia Herzegovina.
It's difficult to write a page about this country. When you're there it's impossible not to think continuously of the terrible things that happened, especially when you walk around the towns and still see destruction, and serbs and moslims not sitting at the same bar.
That's why I decided to put a picture of beautiful rural BiH in this intro page; just some houses in the forest where maybe it does not matter if the inhabitant is Serb or Moslim or Croat.
Peace to BiH. The people really deserve it.

Dirt road? You seem truly intelligent, by 2003 the demining actions had not taken place, ptting asphalt on undemined areas is not something you do. Plus you cannot put asphalt in steep montains, it is not only costly, dangerous but also bad for nature..?!

It's not true that Serbs, muslims and Croats are not sitting at the same bars. It's only in few little towns and some (not all) rural areas where they are separated. But in the cities, and some other villages, they live and drink together.

Seeing reconstruction is great it gives one hope for a better future. Yet, while homes and religious buildings (mosques and churches) are being rebuilt no one is rebuilding the factories. What is to become of a place where people have no where to work?
