Ban Bang Ben (usually named Hat Bang Ben: "Ban"=village and "Hat"=beach in Thai) is the most beautiful beach in the Laem Son Marine National Park, and it is where the Park Headquarters are located.
We are in the Ranong province (southern Thailand), 50 kms south of the provincial capital (and border with Burma), on the Andaman sea.
When I visited (begin december) it was low season and there was no other visitor: kms of pristine beach virtually deserted! The total surface of the National Park covers about 300 square kms of coastal areas and a bunch of small offshore islands. I didn't see much of a wildlife, but I didn't walk too far from the Park Headquarters. Transportation can be a problem: the only way to get here is to take a motorcycle taxi for about 10 kms from the main coastal road (turn-off at km. 657), and then it's just a matter of walking.
