| The covered market in Kota Bahru. |
Kota Bahru (or Kota Baharu) is the capital of the Kelantan state in North-East peninsular Malaysia, at the border with Thailand. It is a region with strong original Malay traditions and culture and with a moslim majority. I spent a quiet couple of days here arriving from Thailand and it rained almost all the time (though it was not the rainy season). So the two things I enjoyed the most have been the nice guesthouse were I was staying and the amazing, colourful, covered market where I took this intro picture (that is one of my favourite pics ever). |
