Venice is the most beautiful city in the world; more so because of its fragile and venerable nature. Once a powerful maritime Empire, Venice sits on the lagoon like a long forgotten lover, her secrets revealed only to those that dare explore beyond her public spaces. My love affair with this city began when I first set foot on that sinking firmament over a decade ago. I was barely fifteen then, just a girl in a far away place that felt totally familiar. I have been to Venice three times since then and I will probably never be able to stay away for too long.
