General Tips: Port Acaba

Favorite Thing: Acaba is a pleasant modern town in the south of Jordan, by Red Sea . It's also the only port in Jordan. In ancient times it was the main port for shipments from the Red Sea to the Far East.

Fondest Memory: Acaba is surronded by rugged mountains that changed colour as the day unfolds. Its ideal location, a pleasant climate and crystal water, make it an ideal place for year round scuba diving and othher water sports.
The picture is was taken from hotel's terace.
Hotel we stayed in, was very clean, rooms were very comfortable and clear.

Favorite Thing: A rose - red ancient town, lies about 5 hours south of Amman or about 2 hours north of Acaba, on the edgees of mountainous desert of the Wadi Araba.

Favorite Thing: Petra an interesting ancient town. One, that's "must see"
We approached from Acaba and the scenic is really breathtaking. In short - amazing beauty of nature and work of mans hands.

Favorite Thing: The site is semi -arid, the friable sandstone allowed the peaople of that time to carve their temples and tombs into the rock crumbling easily to sand.
Fondest Memory: Petra - one more view.

Favorite Thing: The colours of the rock ranges from pale yellow or white through red to brown...
Exploring this ancient town we met many local children (offering stones), very beauteful (as all children are) but very shy. I remember one girl about 8 years, dressed in long white dress, with that deep brown eyes. She was so cute, but she didn't allowe nobody to take photo of her.
