I was in La Romana just one day, but enough to see one of the nicest town in Dominican Republic!
The tourist resort Altos de Chavon is located outside La Romana and provides all you would need, gardens, roman architecture, a wonderful promenade...
It is also known for being an international artists village in italian renaissance style. Altos de Chavón has a hotel, two restaurants, the Regional Archeological Museum (free entrance) and an amphitheatre to hold some concerts (the first one was given by Frank Sinatra!!)
Remember, if you ever go to this fantastic country, never forget visiting La Romana!

just there are 'bout or more than 5 rest...There's "El Sombrero Mexicano" there's a nice Donkey called Margarito, who only drinks beers.... La Piazzetta, Papajacks, Onnos, Starclubs( i think) & a coffee shop called Le Boulangerie. God Bless!
We will be enjoying La Romana in March 2009. I can't wait.
