A lovely harbour

Hamburg is such a lovely place. The weather was great when we were there - nothing like clear blue skies, white clouds, the smell of the seawater and seeing birds flying all over to make one feel really relaxed.

One reason why I wanted to head on here was that my mother visited Hamburg in the 1960s. Needless to say, she was thrilled to bits looking at the photos taken there :-)

Also, I was intrigued by Paul's (VTer Guantanamera) seemingly teasing Hamburg page ~ I just had to come here :-p Hanging out at the Reeperbahn & St Pauli area during the day and night was really fun. Dodgy characters, party people, horny customers, drunken kids, curious onlookers (ie : me) there makes it a really lively place at night.

What I experience in Hamburg :

** Swans gliding quietly by
** Lots of people enjoying the sun and breeze
** A huge football in middle of the square
** Walks in Reeperbahn .. day and night
** The coldest night "ever" for me
** Eating fish sandwiches
** Enjoying ice cream in the park
** Taking many evening and night photos
** Stumbling unto Finnegans'
** Bells tolling every quarter hour
** More to come ..

oh so you got to eat in the rickmers! we ate bratwurst nearby along the harbor. you also had nice weather, we had pisspouring rain! but still, a lovely day with holli was had! loved your page jen!

Ah, great tips on my ex-hometown! I love the picture of the old Elbtunnel - and of course that of the Jungfernstieg sign: this is where I used to work! Glad you enjoyed your stay!

I am glad you had a nice time in Germany, but shame on you for missing Munich. Another lovely city in Bavaria. Next time for sure. Thanks for the tips and photos. Bye. Bill.
