It's the California State Fair! No fair experience is compete until you race down the Superslide while trying not to lose the corn dog, funnel cake, hand dipped ice cream, fried zucchini, cotton candy, lemonade, and soda concoction brewing in your stomach. And the California State Fair delivers a complete experience! In addition to torturing your stomach, the fair offers views of California wildlife, livestock, a demonstration forest & farm, exhibits from & about each county in the state, free concerts with admission, hundreds of vendors selling almost anything you can dream up, floral/landscape displays, wine tasting, exhibit halls displaying winning entries from Calif. county fairs, and all the people watching you want (it'll make you feel better about your relatives). This is a HUGE fair and it is easy to spend an entire day there without getting bored or seeing the same exhibits/shows over & over. Warning: WEAR SUNSCREEN.

A little ditty my parents taught me... I've no clue where this comes from, but the tune enters my head often when thinking of my home for 30 years.
I love ya California in the summer when it's HOT I love ya California in the winter when it's NOT I love ya California in the springtime and the fall And the folks that come to see ya never want to leave at all |
