Andorra from a Native Point of View

by Kidproton - last update: Sep 10, 2002

Andorra. At least once a day my thoughts turn there, especially the summer month (that's right. "month", not "months". It's COLD in Andorra!), when the grass is almost surreally green, the sky is blue and completely devoid of clouds, and the tourists are so numerous that you can't find room to walk in the middle of the one highway *grin*.

Seriously, though. Andorra is a great place to go if you enjoy skiing and Nature in general, as well as shopping your butt off. You can hardly spit without hitting a Roman ruin of some kind, probably one that's still in use. If you're looking for a party town with liberal laws and a vibrant night life, you should probably look elsewhere.

If you don't speak Spanish, French or Catalonian (you heathen!) don't fret: go to Soldeu, which I like to call "Little England", although pretty much any of the towns with a ski slope cater to English-speakers.

Oh! And if you go to Cava Benito: ask for Magdaleno and tell him Manolo says "hi!". It will freak him out something fierce, and amuse me to no end. :)
