I just came back from my 3 day trip to the states where I visited Chicago and Mackinac Island. I only got to spend half a day in Chicago since I went with a tour and we were on a tight schedule, but I LOVED Chicago. I had wanted to visit for a long time, and once I got to experience this city first-hand, it had totally exceeded my expectations. This city has gorgeous architecture (please see <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.154477/article/339/1/?s=i">Architecutre Travelogue</a>), wonderful landscaping, world-class museums, and great public art (please see <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.154477/article/339/3/?s=i">Suite Home Chicago Travelogue</a>). It's a very cultural city with really clean streets and friendly people. Since I did not get to visit as many places as I would've liked to, I'll share my tips about the places that I did get to see and visit. All the pictures (except of Sears Tower) were taken with my digital video camera.

This is the route I took during the trip:

The pink route is on the way to Chicago- we crossed the Windsor/Detroit border, then went shopping in Michigan City, and got to Chicago at night. The purple route marks the way back to Toronto- we stayed at a hotel in Mount Pleasant then continued our way to Mackinac Island, where we stayed for half a day, then headed back to Toronto that same day.
