I guess the best way to start exploring the city is taking a city walls tour... Dubrovnik's city walls were built between the 13th and 16th centuries. They are 25m high. There are 16 towers. You can walk and see the whole old town from whatever the point: the sea, the town...

Medieval architecture...Marble-paved squares, steep and narrow streets... Then red and close houses, churches, so white and so red on top... The Stradun is the main street full of shops, cafes, ice cream sellers...

Going the main street you come to the nice clock tower which is about 35 meters tall. Buil in 1444, then broken down and rebuilt in 1928.

A fort on the steep rock. The fort has got three terraces: the highest is close to the cavalier and the lowest is open to the sea.

Once you finish with the city wall and Stradun...let yourself lose in Dubrovnik....Go to those narrow streets, see the red roofs of living buildings...Observe local boys playing football or a little girl playing with the cat...See the laudry drying in the sun..Just lose yourself...
