On September 21, 2006 I arrived in Rome, stayed for 11 days then headed North to Milan.I stayed at Hotel Petra then moved to Hotel Lawerence in Morena which were not bad.Rome is a wonderful city w/ a unique charm, its artistc style enslaves your mind, the smell of Pizza and espresso penetrates your nose and the historical sites make your eyes jump.I found Rome more interesting then Milan, you can witness history almost every where you go in Rome.Its major basilicas is one of the main characteristics of Rome.I liked visiting the coloesseo, piazza Venezia, Piazza navona, Piazza di spagna, Fontana di trevi, san Pietro(Vatican), San Giovanni Di Laterano, EUR,Piazza del popolo, stazione termini,pantheon and Stadio Olimpico.The people in Rome i found to be very nice,friendly and caring.You use more than their mouth to talk(sign language).I have not had any unpleasant situation in 11 days in Rome, none at all i could say, not even for few moments.The subway system is very nice and efficient, the railway system is very good and organized.The music around piazza navona still dances in my ears(one year later). I love Rome and is planning to go there many more times in the future.
