Compared to the pyramids, Alexandria is a newcomer, since its history dates back to the Greco-Roman period of ancient Egypt. It was the capital of Cleopatra and sheltered another ancient wonder: the Pharos. I visited Alexandria in August 1997 with one of my friends who live in Montreal.We stayed at a Villa in the "Agmy" area, right on the beach.We were fascinated w/ the beautiful beaches, the weather, the smell of the Mediterranean Sea and the seafood.Alexandria is a landmark on the Mediterranean.It has got also many touristic attractions like museums,the "Kataibay" Castle, The Roman Amphitheatre, The Montazah Palace and many others.Below is a picture of myself four years ago at the rocks of Miami Beach, Alexandria.How beautiful it is!! |
