  • That's really a off the road activity. You will see few tourists and you will really see a bos (woods in Dutch) rather than a park. It consists of huge grass fields, an inmense lake for canoeing (renting included), a swimming pool for kids, a farm for kids, etc and hundreds of tree-covered lovely paths to ride the fiets.

I think you need to rent the bike to do this.

You can address here going to vondelpark, crossing from north to south and in the south exit you can see a sign showing the way. It's 5-6 kilometers from the center.

You can spend the whole day. Take your meal and enjoy!

  • A bike route that shows different Netherlands landscapes and villages. Probably the most beautiful part is riding along the seashore north/south (depending on which direction you make the tour) with the wind blowing on your face. You'll go over the beauty of Broek in Waterland, Zuiderwoude, Uitdam, Ransdrop and Durgerdam. The people here usually don't speak English but the old men I met were really funny!

I got lost twice and ended up asking to old men who asked were I was from. When I said 'Spain' answered with a big smile and pointed the right direction.

You can get a detailed map of the trip in Mac Bikes renting shop (Centraal Station right side, or behind the chess players near Leidseplein square) for 1 € (yes, you are right, in Netherlands you have to pay for everything even for pissing on). Be careful when following the signs on the route map: sometimes it is not very accurate and it's better to follow your orientation (if it's better than mine). You have to cross a narrow river and pay a few cents for it.

  • Good if you feel tired of visiting places and want to rest for an afternoon having some drinks.

Entrance is 10 ?, but you are given 3 counters valid for 3 heinekens and at the end they give you a souvenir -a glass of Heineken.

You can understand the process of brewing, going around the rooms of the museum..etc.

    Address is:
    Stadhouderskade 78
    Amsterdam

On their homesite you can see the timetable..etc

No wonder. Amsterdammers are often fed up with everything. There is a British protestant church there, wich had chorus concerts inside. The catholic church (former hidden) is also interesting.

Your Amsterdam information is helpful. I think I'm going there at the beginning of June, as part of my first European vacation. Happy Birthday! Having a birthday on the weekend is a bonus, I say.
