Getting TO/AROUND: In Barcelona there are three main transport networks, TMB, FGC (Ferrocarrils Generalitat de Catalunya, regional train company) and RENFE.
TMB is the Metro company.
FGC has some lines that cover specific destinations in an area of 50 km.
RENFE is the national railway company, and has a regional subnetwork (Cercanias or Rodalies in catalan) that operates in all Catalonia.
FGC is the best way (and in some cases the only one) to get to some site seeing places like Montserrat mountain.
To go to Montserrat it may interest you line R5.
You will need to take a funicular too.
R5 line starts on Espanya metro station.
