  • Besides being the center of the commercial activity in the town, it is also the unavoidable starting point of the city, though of no artistic but symbolic value, as it is the square where all main roads in Spain start, the Km. 0.

    Puerta del Sol: Casa de Correos Tower's Clock

  • This tower was added to Casa de Correos in 1866 to place this London-made clock gived by an important clockmaker to the city.

  • It was built in the XV century and set fired several times. Its actual appearance was given by some architects in 1854.

    Some city main events are celebrated here.

    In the middle you have the statue of Felipe III.

    on mondays 17:00 and at 18:00

  • It's a huge palace with more than 2800 rooms where royal family used to live, although only 50 can be visited.

    Inside you can find the Royal Chemist's, a set of rooms with medicine flasks and other gadgets.

    It also includes the Royal Armoury, that contains the largest Stradivarius collection and the best world weapon collection of the XVI and XVII century, including the swords of Fernando el Catolico, Boabdil, Hernan Cortes or Francisco Pizarro.

  • This building was finished and inaugurated by pope John Paul II by 1992 after more than a century of work. It is relatively new, although its name comes from musleems name 'almudayna', that stands for 'grain market'.
