In 1997, my friend, Karren, and I decided to see the Rose Bowl Tournament and Parade first hand as her team the Ohio State Buckeyes were playing the Arizona State Sun Devils. The game was wonderful. We went the day before to see them assemble the floats. People camp out for days to get good viewing spots for the parade. We lucked out and got seats across from the tv cameras once the parade had begun. The 1997 Rose Bowl was significant as it was the first time in 50 years that it had rained. Still it was a good game with the Buckeyes winning in the last minute of the game with a touchdown.
