Plettenberg Bay - called "Plett" by the locals consists of one main street (just the right length) with restaurants, cafés, and enough delectable shops to keep you busy but not to bore you. The town is characterized by sweeping, unspoilt golden beaches, a dramatic rocky peninsula, intriguing lagoons and estuaries, towering indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea. With its exceptional climate, and beautiful view sites over the Indian Ocean, Plettenberg Bay is tranquil and charming, hospitable and rather special. The resort area boasts the most beautiful beaches of the Garden Route. They stretch over many kilometers all around the bay. The water sport possibilities are plentiful, and in season the bay it is an excellent place to watch whales and dolphins.
