Medieval Village in the Sky

Eze Village Shop
Eze is a city of small narrow roads, archways and superbly restored stone houses. It also has lots of shady squares and beautiful, ancient fountains. The village is so beautiful it's hard to believe you have not stumbled onto a movie set!

The village is perched like an Eagle’s nest on a cliff high above the Mediterranean. It affords the visitor extraordinary views of Cap Ferrat to the West and Italy to the East. Because of its unique position (being up high), the village was never heavily fortified like St Paul de Vence. The views from every corner are fantastic.

There are very few residents who love in Eze. Mostly galleries, shops and restaurants occupy the village houses. The many small arts and crafts boutiques are hard to resist.

Thank goodness, my minicoach tour from Nice did stop here for a bit, enough time to allow us to meander these verrry movie-set medieval cobbled lanes, to our hearts' content. The views of the Med below are superb!
