"Close to home!" a Northampton Travel Page by bonio

Well, after over five years on VT here's my Northampton page. At around 14 miles from home it's the largest town to me, although by public transport not the most accessable, we'll come to that later though.
While not one of the must see towns of England, or even the region, it's a pleasant enough place - usually - with enough to occupy yourself for a while, especially in the surrounding area.
I'll mention things I like doing so this page is likely to be strong on watching sport, drinking good ales and searching out interesting places to eat.
The photo? Known locally as the lighthouse (Northampton is around 100 miles from the sea) it was the testing ground for a lift (elevator) manufacturer, who have now closed but the tower remains at the moment.
