A trip down memory lane
I was a steel worker from 1977 - 80 so this was a great day out for me, a visit to the UNESCO Völklinger Hütte, a preserved iron making plant.

I'm glad this steel plant was preserved intact when it was closed down. I always enjoy touring old industrial sites, especially when there is a knowledgeable guide. (As in the old coal mining site in Essen.)
