This is one of the Brewery run hotels in Bamberg. It's midway between the rail station and the city centre. Rooms are clean and comfy with a simple breakfast included in the price, and they serve great beer and food. Only problem was managing to pass the bar on the way out! Cash only, no cards, but at €55 for a double room en-suite with breakfast, no problem (2004 price)

The first time we visited Bamberg we stopped in a brewery hotel, this time it was one above a chocolate and cake shop, again a struggle to leave the building. Rooms nicely decorated and very comfortable with a good buffet breakfast included in the price (no cakes!) Ask for a room at the back, ours was a little noisy but, we did have the windows open.
