situated on an altitude of around 750m, in the beautiful surroundings of the Serra do Curral.
in the early days of colonialsation the place was called.. Ribeiro do Campo and
1923 renamed...Nova Lima.
the area has a pleasant climate, not to hot and winters are very mild, it rain's quite often for short periods, but the greenery around the Town and its wonderful Flora and Fauna makes up for it.
just 20km from Belo Horizonte, Nova Lima has a lot to offer.
- In a nutshell:green enviroment not far from a big City

Love those bridges through the jungles. Bet Tarzan wish he had those instead of swinging through the trees.

Wonderful page, Waltraud! I bet you have the fondest memories of this place - it really DOES look beautiful!
An excellent page Waltraud, especially that photo of you and Otto!! Nice tip on the Jacaranda wood too - one of my favourite trees but I did not realize it had such hard wood! Thanks for the great info on this beautiful city!
That "zique-zaque" street is some kind of nightmare for stilettos...! ;-) Great place, Wal.
This place seems even more lovely Wal. Did you stay here or do a day trip in order to visit?
