a small but most charming Wine-Region Vinyards surrounds the Village, one can see from the Kitchen window ....how the grapes are doing and later in the autum, a wonderful flavour of the rippening grapes makes you nearly dizzy.....trunk^..^ |
| | delay the Wine tasting and have a walk around this beautiful area. . im Maischoss
do it before you sit down for a glas of wine.....it won't be the last one, the red drop is just too good for being dismissed, this region has, in my humble opinion, the best Red, Germany can produce. it's not a fullish , dark coloured Red, is a light redish colour....and it goes down sooo well.you will be the judge of how many are enough, for still walking straight ^..^ |
the triangle between Aachen..Koblenz..Trier is indeed one of the most charming region in Germany. to reach Ahrweiler just turn of on the Autobahn, between Godesberg and Bonn. there is no shortage of guiding signs.....Germans love their signs, calling it der Schilderwald the sign forest |

yumyum Sun Nov 5, 2006 19:45 UTC Oh, next time I want to see more of the valley. I would like to hike and see the castles too! | robertgaz Wed Mar 8, 2006 03:58 UTC Shame on me for drinking only (very good) beer and none of the fabulous wines from here! | Trekki Thu Sep 29, 2005 07:30 UTC Ok Weinfest - I would love to visit one again. Bad Neuenahr looks nice :-) | Nemorino Wed Jul 13, 2005 21:05 UTC I once spent a weekend in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, and it was pretty awful -- but that was because of the seminar, not the town. The town was OK. (Hard to imagine it's the dead of winter down where you are!) |
