Limburg as it ones used to be - Land Hessen

one of the richest State in Germany and a very beautiful one too. Hessen can show of with forest, lakes, rivers..highly recreational regions. super modern cities, like FRANKFURT or WIESBADEN..the later called the Capital of the State Hessen. Frankfurt, I think, was always a little jealouse of that title.
Frankfurt has become the main center of finance and commerce. an impressive Skyline mainly owned by Banks.. gave Ffm the Nickname..Mainhatten, after the River that flows through.. der Main!
Wiesbaden a luxurious City, an international Spa and Congress Center and the Taunus Region right at its doorsteps.
but for me, the hesse countryside with its diverse landscape, small towns and villages captured my heart...like:
LIMBURG an der Lahn my first trip has been in the mid sixties, on the way visiting my brother in WETZLAR.

In a nutshell:the big Cities are okay, the Countryside enchanting..you choose

The River Lahn looks peaceful with some lovely villages. And all that industry right next door. Interesting pages.
