Kilimanjaro was a name that spelt a strange kind of exotic and adventureous feeling, complete with the Massai tribes and the images of zebras and giraffes walking around, with the big imposing mountain jutting into the sky in the backdrop.
Finally, when i learnt that on an assignment in Africa last year, a trip to Kilimanjaro was part of our itinerary, all those images and ideas came rushing back...
Kilimanjaro crept out of my school geography text book, and into the real world for me.

a high school trek i missed than the closest was from a Swsisair flight, when the pilot tilted the plane 707 [?] for a special viewing
