If you've come from my North Carolina "main" page, you'll know that I took a trip with my friend, her dad, and her son down the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our destination was Chimney Rock Park--and here we are. I would recommend getting here earlier than we did (we arrived around 4pm) so you can see more of the trails and have better light for pictures. The Chimney Rock was in shadow when we were there, as was Hickory Nut Falls. To see what we saw, check out my travelogues on this page.

Hickory Nut Falls

If some of the scenery looks familiar, it's because parts of the movie "Last of the Mohicans" (with Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stow) were filmed here. Hickory Nut Falls will look especially familiar to those of you who have seen the movie.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Rocks, and lots of 'em!
Cons:Stairs, and lots of 'em!
