My friend Angela and I headed to Chicago for a brief visit and meet-up with some Internet friends from a (now-defunct) soccer chat site. The central event was a Major League Soccer match between DC United and the Chicago Fire. Sadly, my team lost. But the weekend was tons of fun! Even if a few of us drank a few too many kamikazes in the hotel bar, and one of us (not me!) was last seen sprawled on the floor just down from the hotel lobby. The photo shows a number of us after a pickup match in Grant Park. Sir Shootalot was visiting from York, England (you'd never have guessed, would you?).
