Taxis: Be careful of TAXI drivers...

    • Be careful of TAXI drivers !!!

    We went to St.Peter by a train. When we got off the train, a taxi driver accosed us offering a cheap hotel. Proposed fares for a night where OK, but I asked about a taxi fare. The taxi driver wanted us to pay 20 USD !!! Such a price is very expensive even in Warsaw (Poland). Of course we did not agree for it.

    If you can ALWAYS negotiate taxi fares especially if you know the Russian language. Finally we paid 4 USD for a similar course.

    • You will obtain better exchage rate if you go to the private exchage office.

    I noticed that BANKS OFFER lower rates than private exchange offices.

    You must also know that it is common to paid a commission of app. 0,5 USD for every currency for exchanging money.

    You will be also offered a better rate if you exchage 100 USD or more.
