I first arrived in Athens back in 1983. I have graduated the high school in Athens and stayed there until 1985. The following five years found me to move around various places : 1985-86 Italy(Perugia, Florence), 1987-88 join the army(Corinth/Thrace/Ioannina, 1989-90 Konitsa). Then back to Athens for 5 years more,working mainly in a Radio Station. In total I have spent more than 7,1/2 years of my life in Athens and , believe me, it was a hard experience!... Because I lived in the heart of Athens, right to Omonia Square, the very center of Athens! In the center of the pollution, the mad traffic, the noise, the drug addicted and favourite gathering place of all short of weirdos you can immagine!... Having survived there, I can give very wise advices to people who are going to visit this particular area or Athens in generally!...
Although I live in another city right now (Ioannina) I regulary travel to Athens (almost once every 2 or 3 months) and never say no to a travel to my beloved Cape Sounio or other nearby areas! So, if you plan to visit Athens, you van contact me, perhaps I will be there the same time with you and we could even meet us!... Ofcourse, given the chance, with pleasure I will show you the sightseings of Athens!...
(The cartoonish picture I placed above depicts Athena the protectress of Athens City and godess of widsom! I managed to discover that funny card in just one tourist shop of the whole Athens area! So it must be really rare! I have bought a few of them and there are a dozen other themes each one for each Olympus god & godess!)
