"Italy, the country of the 1000 faces!" Italy by Georgio

...back in 1985 !... A 20 year old aspiring artist, an adventurous (yeah,that was me!) Greek young man set foot into the Italian soil through the Bari port!...Destination was PERUGIA, the capital city of UMBRIA region, in the heart of Italy. Umbria, also known to the Italians as "Il Cuore Verde d'Italia (The Green Core/hearth of Italy) is the only one region of non-alpine Italy that has not access to the sea!!... Important stronghold of ancient Etruscans , Perugia nowadays is worldwide famous for its chocolate industry (Perugina) and for hosting the most renowned University for foreigners (Universita Italiana per Stranieri / Italian language Unversity).... Thousants of young people arrive here every summer in order to enroll & to become that way more familiar with the Italian language, the language of Opera & Arte, Dante, Petrarch, Romeo, Michelangelo & Leonardo DaVinci...

• Pros:Friendly people, Rich History, tons of ancient monuments , Language that sounds like singing, Birthplace of Renaissance, of Art & Culture, delicious cuisine, Divine Beaches, landscapes that vary from alpine to ..."african"!!!...Well, need more?!
• Cons:There's a great risk to fell in love with this country, like I did ! Women, don't get TOO close to the Italian men! :)) !! Don't forget Casanova was of Italian origin!!!
• In a nutshell:More than just Pizza and Pasta !
