It took me about two weeks to decide if I really loved Sri Lanka or really hated it. I knew that I had some sort of strong feelings for it, but I was unsure what side of the spectrum they were on. Finally I realised that Sri Lanka was more my home than anywhere else I have been. I felt such a strong connection to the place I almost cashed in my plane ticket to stay.
The trip was nothing short of life-changing. There were animals everywhere... elephants, pythons, monkeys, tortoises, caterpillars, porcupines... Having grown up in cities all my life I was barely aware that this many animals existed in the wild.
