"The Pretty Little Village of Finchingfield" Finchingfield by Ash59

Finchingfield Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 14 photos

Finchingfield is one of those picture postcard villages in Essex. It is a delight to walk round to see the thatched roof houses and old fashioned places.

You can swan through this place in a matter of minutes or spend hours looking in one or two of the specialist shops (my favourite is the "Hanzel & Gretel" shop which sells wooden toys - that you can play with - and cuckoo clocks), walking upto the church or the windmill or visiting one or other of the tearooms or pubs.

Pros and Cons
  • Cons:Parking is free but parking places can be hard to find in the summer.
  • In a nutshell:Quant little village with history

Wonderful pictures. My uncle used to run a shop here. It was opposite or near the church , if my memory serves me right- I going back 50 years ago now.

Regretfully, I swanned through on a rather wet afternoon... I'll have to go back.
