Spanning in the region of 2 million hectares (or 20,000,000,000 mtr2), Kruger National Park makes for one extremely large area to track animals in. I will readily admit that the rangers that we had tried extemely hard to find some animials that were closer than a kilometer away but the Park has restrictions on where you can drive and being restricted to the roads and tracks meant that we couldn't get close to animals unless they came to us.
The animals shown in the collage weren't actually taken in Kruger but in a private reserve called Mala Mala that has a boundary that runs along the Kruger National Park.
The park has 9 different gates and the one that we entered the park through was Melenane Gate. Immediately outside the gate is a lodge called Melelane Sun Hotel, which I you can read about in the hotel section. |

| Pros: | "National Park protected by the State, so animals are protected from poachers" | | Cons: | "Too large an area to find animials unless you know what to look for." |
