From all the countries in the world, Spain is the one I´ve been more times than anywhere else (except Finland ofcourse...oh...and maybe Sweden...).
My first visit was in 1986 to Madrid and afterwars I´ve been many times in the South, once in the North, once in Canarian Islands and once more in Madrid.
The capital seems much smaller than it really is. It has a strange feeling of "home" in it - if you know what I mean. Madrid is packed with great museums, churches and beautiful parks too. Also I remember spending a lot of time in different jazz- and rockclubs. At least by the time I have been there music was everywhere and there was some brilliant musicians in Madrid.

Costa Del Sol is nice too but I get kind of bored with too many tourist around me all the time. So even if I have been there many times I still prefear Madrid from Costa Del Sol. The reason I've been there so many times is that there´s a lot of Finns who have flats there and it has been like visiting a friend a little further away.

Anywhere in Spain it is always nice to stop for a beer or cup of coffee. I think the Spanish have a very nice Cafe-culture. And Great coffee!

To the North I went at the wrong time - August. It was packed with tourist and all the hotels were full. So if you're planning a trip there, go at some other time. I was in Bilbao, Santander and Santiago de Compostela and yes, I likes the places but still I would have prefered a little more space:)

Oh, and if you travel to the South visit also Gibraltar. It is worth seeing.
