Buenos Aires - Buenos Aires

The city of Buenos Aires is Huge! I went there for a mounth in August 1995 because I had already fallen in love with some of the Argentinan music. I had good luck, because I got to see all of my favorite Argentinan artists on stage and got to know one of them personally.
Buenos Aires is a good place to learn Spanish because most of the people don't speak any english at all. I spoke only a few words when I went there and in the end of the month I had conversations in Spanish!
People in Argentina are very different from the rest of the Latin American people. They are more melancolic ans serious - I think. Maybe it has something to do with their love of Tango.
I love the Hippie-culture that still lives in there! They have big markets almoust every day around the city where you can find all sorts of handmade things.
Although you hear a lot of crazy things that happen in Buenos Aires, I felt very safe in there even when walking or traveling alone in the nighttime. But keep your eyes open anyway. I saw couple of robberys with my own eyes and heard gunshots once, so those things happen.
