The Everglades is one of the most unique national parks in America. It consists of a huge freshwater Swamp transitioning to Mangrove swamp area. It is also the home for many endangered species that are found only in US in the everglades or in southern Florida, such as the Mantee, the American Crocodile and the Florida panther.

I also walked the Anhinga Trail - my husband (fiance at the time) was amazed at the quantity of unique wildlife, and at the very active population of alligators! lol

What fantastic photographs to document one of my favorite places.
Both Mahogany Hammock in the southern Everglades and Shark Valley in the northwestern part of the Everglades are my most favorite places to go there. Can't believe you only saw 10 gators in 1 mile. Must have been a slow day.
